Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
I wish it were that easy. In education we have to be extremely careful of where we tell our students to go (especially on the web). With that said, I can't really swing signing my school's students up to a service that they can remove their own clothing. I realize they may go home and see much worse...

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
This is great! Now would I have to change the default avatars in my world in order to take advantage of this? Or is this just simply dealing with avatars in the marketplace? Thanks for the information.

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
I have tested SOAS and used it successfully in multi-user mode. It is the closest solution I have so far. However, I am absolutely positive the local SOAS world cannot be reached from outside the school. The firewall and proxy in place in our district have always blocked connections like this. I had...

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
Sounds like the ideas are pouring in. I have made some headway and found some other solutions. I recently found a version or Sim-on-a-stick that is made for education. The child avatars that are created in this world have the underwear on that is much more appropriate. Wasn't sure if this could some...

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
As with most schools, I have to get this approved before it can be deployed. With the possibility of nudity, I know my Principal will not let it go forward. I think this is one of those things holding alot of schools from deploying virtual worlds. Especially at the k-8 level. The most frustrating pa...

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
I really appreciate all the responses. Like other educators, I would like to use Kitely simply because it has much less adult content than Second Life. Plus students and faculty can access it anywhere,at any time. I realize that the viewer can be edited to remove these options also. However, I will ...

Re: Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avata
Thanks for the fast reply. I would like to use kitely in a fashion that they could access it anyhwere from any computer. So, it looks like I may be looking into a script that does what you suggested. Just so I am clear, polling with a script would enable me to consistently retach their clothing? Is ...

Force avatars to wear clothing or edit the default avatar
Hello, I would like to use our Kitely world with my students soon. I was wondering if their is a script that exists that forces students to wear a ceratin uniform or a script that prohibits nudity in a region? Last, is it possible to alter the default avatar that renders in a world through a script?...

Re: Avatar appears as cloud and no textures are rendering
Thanks for the help. It appears I was able to resolve the problem by modifying the proxy settings in Firestorm along with removing all avatar clothing and then placing it back on. The whole world now renders properly. Thanks again.

Re: Avatar appears as cloud and no textures are rendering
Hello, Thanks for your reply. The odd thing is, no textures seem to render at all in the world (objects and my avatar). I am using the Firestorm viewer for Opensim. It works very well at home, but in school it always seems to have trouble rendering any textures at all. As long as I have internet acc...
