Re: FYI Running Firestorm from a USB

I have been running viewers from a flash drive for a few years routinely. I use 64 bit Firestorm nearly all the time. I occasionally use the official SL viewer for SL. I have no problems with either. In the past, I have run other viewers from a flash drive, but have not tried recently, simply becaus...

Permissions Question

I notice that some items that are for sale in the market are no-transfer export. I have looked through the FAQ and blog for more information and didn't find the answer to my question. Since exportable items can be taken to other grids, presumably including private grids running on people's PCs, how ...

Where can I find a concise explanation of hypergridding?

I think the Hypergrid is fascinating, but I am having problems understanding how moving things among grids works. I understand that anything I wear when going from Kitely to other grids has to have the export permission set. I do not understand what the requirements are for an avatar from another gr...

Re: The End of Second Life As We Know It?

As I understand it, the third party viewers such as Firestorm are based on the LL open source viewer code, and SL may be discontinued at some point, to be replaced in their product line by a new, better virtual world product. What does this bode for Kitely in terms of technical development? I am not...

Re: How hard is it to import exported content?

Thanks. That helps. I hadn't thought about how complex it could get. I would never want more than one avatar to use something at the same time, but it would be impossibly cumbersome to try to move something like a piece of clothing to the one that needed it at a particular time if they were sharing.

How hard is it to import exported content?

I am very interested in the concept of exportable content that I can use on multiple grids. Obviously, if I go to another grid from Kitely, I have the contents of the My Suitcase folder on the other grid. Perhaps that will suffice, and I should not have any concerns. However, I have (mostly dormant)...

Opportunites for Creators

I am intensely interested in Kitely, but I spend most of my time in the Metaverse in SL for two reasons: There are a lot more people there, and there is a lot more content, particularly avatar components and clothing. I have been looking for a nice skin in Kitely. I found a few in the MP. However, t...
