Re: Kitely Starter Avatars world
"...The last time this happened, was within the last week, at a Blender class. Someone arrived with an AC over 800K, lagging everyone in the sim. When asked to fix it, she set off a giggle gesture and added enough crap that her AC number was nearly a million. I crashed and decided that a nap was a b...

Re: Kitely Starter Avatars world
If you haven't considered Avatar Complexity before, here is some information. Sim owners who don't want visitors to crash are interested in this, especially educators who have students with older or less powerful computers. This is probably the most comprehensive writeup on the subject I've seen. N...

Re: Market can't find my avatar - UUID changed
Sorry about that. I'm confining myself to just Kitely and Savannahgrid these days. Getting too old and no longer getting frequent grid visitor miles. Sorry about the delay been sick a bit lately.

Re: Market can't find my avatar - UUID not changed
Ilan Looks like Marketplace has lost track of my grid again. (I suspect this may have been due to an Outworldz DNS problem I'm looking into adding my own domain rather than using theirs). Nothing else has changed, I have the same static IP on the grid, no UUID changes, no name changes. Can I get the...

Re: Graphical Errors on Marketplace Items
Yes. I was curious if anyone else is experiencing similar issues with those particular vendors. If it was just one vendor I'd ignore it. But those are good quality vendors and the problem is recent. I thought I was seeing a potential problem because it repeated on older backups, when they were resto...

Re: Graphical Errors on Marketplace Items
Sorry. The error are occurring during routine backups of the .OAR files. Every night I run a backup if work has been done on the system (small grid problems :D my users tell me if they've done work and I back them up manually). Last week while backing up my own region I started seeing archiver error...

Re: Graphical Errors on Marketplace Items
Ilan The products are two older purchases from Market Place that now show [Archiver Warnings] about missing refences or assets. The products themselves are working fine. I've only seen this error before on some much older Selea Core products. Both of these vendors are excellent and I've made quite a...

Graphical Errors on Marketplace Items
Recently, I've noticed graphical errors (ranging from EOC codestream errors to missing asset messages) on some of my older marketplace purchases. I often purchase Marketplace items for use in my own grid simply because some of the content creators here are much better than I will ever be. But over t...

Re: Join us today at the Kitely Community Meeting (October 24)
Ada Just a few thoughts come to mind. 1. Have you switched to Windows 11 recently or done a recent Windows update? 2. Try reducing draw distance to the minimum, particles to minimum and removing checks on all shaders. 3. Clear all cache (actually delete the cache location). It does sound like bad VR...

The long sad tale of a house
Just about eighteen years ago I started learning to build in Second Life. Today is actually my RL and SL and OS birthdays. Got in a habit for a while of creating a new avatar on my birthday. Anyway, I learned how to build with prims, how to do some sculpties and even torture a few prims. Along the w...
