Re: Useful PBR videos
The new PBR viewer NEEDS <- (I would make this neon and blinking if I could) to be whitelisted in the antivirus. If it is not, the textures load all wonky. This is an issue in SL as well. There is a guide here to do it. You need to whitelist the viewer itself (firestorm.exe), slplugin.exe, slvoice ...

Re: Kitely website needs a makeover
Having experience as a web designer, I would say that most of the Kitely website is just fine. It would be a great idea IMO perhaps to give the main page a refresh every so often so things look vibrant. Perhaps have a submit(at)kitely.com email or a forum post here where members can submit ...

Re: Does pathfinding actually work here?

Re: Does pathfinding actually work here?
Pathfinding does not work, but Opensim has NPC's. In a lot of ways, for creating things like, well, NPC's or animals, etc. the NPC system is superior to pathfinding IMO.

Re: Plant classification - does this make sense?
One of their standard methods for introducing realistic physics where you couldn't walk through a huge oak tree was simply to set it phantom and then conceal a standard cylinder within the trunk. The cylinder could of course be hovering slightly above any "ground" so no complex collisions would ...

Re: Plant classification - does this make sense?
There are a number of things that make vegetation more manageable:
Right-sizing Textures
Use Alpha Masking Whenever Possible (e.g. leaves)
Simple Physics
Set Physics Shape to NONE (in linksets) or go Phantom When Objects Do not Need to Collide
In general, I find Opensim to be better than ...

Builder's Buddy Update for Giant Varregions
I made the changes to accommodate the new giant regions. You can find a copy of these at the Brayla Sana Gallery sim along with other useful free scripts.
Here is the main script:

Oh. Good to Know!Ilan Tochner wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 11:54 pmPlease note that Dedicated Server worlds will need to use 2048.0 instead of 1024.0 as they can be up to 8x8 regions in size (i.e. 2048m by 2048m).Brayla Sana wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 8:07 pm Make sure the values are set as above, for Opensim Varregions.

In the Builder's Buddy main script, about 40 or so lines down, you will see this:
