Re: Objects disappear as zoom closer.

Are these meshes you've uploaded yourself, did you include ones for all the LODs? Ummm, these are prims, not meshes, Ilan. ;) I had a look at the place and didn't see anything unusual with those prims. However, several parts of the truck, including the front wheels failed to render for me: Untitled...

Re: To box, or not to box, that is the question

This is true for all regular deliveries: the description field contains a link to the product page in Kitely Market. The URL might be truncated if it's longer than the maximum allowed description length, but the beginning of the URL will always be present. That's great. THere's no need to check the...

Re: To box, or not to box, that is the question

does sound like a good approach. It could have been but it turns out the box lists the seller as the creator so it doesn't work. However, the text in the description of the test box I sent started with "https://www.kitely.com/market/product/". That seems like a very good identifier. I've sent Oren ...

Re: To box, or not to box, that is the question

You'd need to find something about the object that differentiates it. Yes, but which is the best parameter to check? Ideally we want one code snippet that works for all scripts rather than unique solutions for each. llGetCreator( ); is the most obvious choice. Something like this: if(llGetCreator( ...

Re: To box, or not to box, that is the question

Hi Tess, Oh, that brings up another question: what happens to scripts when KM boxes them up. Will they start running when the box is rezzed? Yes, because scripts in prims automatically start running when the prim is rezzed. Oh. That may be a bit of a problem. Is there a way for a script to reliably...

Re: To box, or not to box, that is the question

it automatically converts folders into boxes when delivering orders to third party grids. Oh, that brings up another qeustion: what happens to scripts when KM boxes them up. Will they start running when the box is rezzed? And two more related questions: Is there a limit to how many items a listing ...

To box, or not to box, that is the question

I'm working on a number of Market listings that each includes several - some of them more than a hundred - different items. I know from SL that some customers prefer to receive such collections boxed to keep their inventories less cluttered, others prefer to get them "loose" to make the items easier...

Re: Terrain files

There is potentially another way of creating and selling scenes... and that is via the RezMela system. That's really interesting but it's not a solution to the potential issues Ilan is worried about. A rezzer script is a rezzer script no matter what you call it and if a sim has problems handling a ...

Re: Terrain files

There's another reason you don't want to create a "region rezzbox" Tess. Currently Firestorm has a major flaw in handling object contents. If you drop say, 300 items in a box, then try to see the object Contents... it can take 5, 10, 20 minutes for just the names of the object to show up. This does...
