Re: Accidentally Raised Ground level

Annie, I think you may have done it by hitting the apply button on the edit terrain tab with the Raise bullet selected. I did the same thing once. Since then, I make a habit of baking my terrain (Region Details --> Terrain tab --> bake terrain button) after doing any terraforming, and if I'm doing e...

Re: Creation

This is one of the most interesting places I've visited on any grid. First, there's the immediate sense of a theme park ride in which you sit down, and are whisked away to place after place. Surrounded by a cacophony of visual and audio stimuli, of color, of poetry, of motion, it's as though you're ...

Re: Join us today at the Kitely Community Meeting (October 7)

It was hard to find this time. We thought 1:00 grid time, but couldn't confirm it. I didn't see it listed in the events calendar.

Re: Space Navigator not working with High Sierra

Not sure I've got the process down, never shared a link to a file in dropbox before, but let's see if this gets it to you. If it doesn't, send an IM with an email address to which I can send it.

Re: Space Navigator not working with High Sierra

I don't remember much about the history or who's software stopped supporting who's, but the most recent version of 3DConnexion's drivers I've found that do work in Firestorm is 3DxWare64 v10.1.2 which is available in their archives. This has been the case at least since the WinXP era. Just Google fo...

That's slick. I hope that when I need to use this, it'll be to make it available for someone else to use who wants to.

Re: Connection Failures

I live in a very rural part of the country. Broadband isn't available here. I have a satellite connection to the internet. It does fine for most aspects of building in Kitely (or SL, etc.). I can't load a RAW terrain file, however, and I'm told the very slow ping response time in satellite connectio...

Re: Looking for sim surroundings

I just bought a Worlds End sim surround from creator Ozwell Wayfarer on Kitely Market. They are completely modifiable. If you put it into edit and press ctrl + shift, you can stretch it in either direction. I did that just last evening so I could remove the vegetation it came with and add my own. Yo...

Re: Changing region terrain

The difference between a 24 bit png and a 32 bit png is that the later contains an alpha channel; 8 bits each for red green and blue plus 8 for the alpha. An alpha channel is how the transparency is communicated. The jpg solution you found worked because jpgs don't have an alpha channel. Terrain tex...
