Re: NEW THREAD: JOKE OF THE DAY-- The Three Piggies
Three little piggies were out in the barnyard with their mother. The piggy named Sunbeam asked, "Mother, why did you name me Sunbeam?" The mother answered, "The day you were born was dreary and overcast, but a small spot opened in the sky and a single sunbeam fell on your forehead. So I named you Su...

Re: Firestorm stuck on initiailizing texture cache
A major grid owner told me that 80% of the problems his customers report are caused by Firestorm. I don't mean to put down Firestorm, but they really aren't very supportive of the Opensim community. Last time I checked they have ONE dev that's dedicated to Opensim (bless her). The Firestorm website ...

Re: Who still uses sculpties?
Even if somebody wants to improve their mesh optimization skills, it's hard to find the relevant information. Linden Lab would of course be the most obvious source but they don't have any skilled mesh makers themselves." This is indeed a major issue. LL has a long history of having great ideas, poo...

Re: Respecting Intellectual Property
That is a very good coupla points Christine. I had totally forgotten about Godmode... which is a standard part of Opensim and completely overrides pretty much any defense against copybotting. Cos what a lotta copybotters do is actually buy one copy of the item... and then they take the box to their ...

Re: Respecting Intellectual Property
Follow-up: As a creator, I solved the copybotting problem the smart way (and this doesn't work for everyone): ALL of my creations rely on scripts to function. So someone might copybot an avatar or a blaster... but all of the animations, gestures and functions won't work. They might copybot a vehicle...

Re: Respecting Intellectual Property
Tess wrote a really, really good and extensive list of ways to check for copybotted items. The trick is that checking all those things every time we get a new item can be very time consuming. After all, Opensim was created to be open, and that has a downside: illegal copybotting. Part of the issue i...

Re: The accusation of Okwaho Euler and the stolen booze!
Well, yeah... but dey was controlled fireballs. I didn't burn nuthin' down. Didn't even singe someone's hair (for once). Dwagons is innocents. Any claims to contrary was Photoshopped and Deepfaked. (I read those words in da Town Cryer.) (Which really, would be a great name for the Catronian newspape...

Re: Open Letter to New and Current Residents Of Kitely
I will second the statement that I have found Ilan and Oren to be bend-over-backwards helpful on Kitely, even if a person is just part of a group and doesn't personally own land. They have made hundreds of changes to the core Opensim code that are extremely beneficial, and frankly I just seem to hav...

NEW THREAD: JOKE OF THE DAY
Snoots Dwagon was talking with Trouble Ahead about the possibility of attaching 20 cannons to the mini-gunship, when suddenly they heard a thunk, and a pig's noggin rolled out into the road.
Snoots eeped and said, "TROUBLE! A HEAD!"
Okay, I sorry. I very very sorry...
