Re: Bullet vs ODE vs Ubode

As I've stated before I'm by no means a deep tech. That doesn't mean however I can't chat with deep techs... and over the years have done so several times in regard to the dread lag monster. We've also run some rather incredible tests to see what lags and what doesn't. I know this is an old debate, ...

Re: Bullet vs ODE vs Ubode

Yes Tess, I agree in ideal situations. Unfortunately, most people don't have the ability to update their meshes short of purchasing new compatible items. On another grid I had God powers and even tried saving a mesh item and re-uploading it. That not only took a great deal of time, but the upload fa...

Re: Bullet vs ODE vs Ubode

This is to the best of my knowledge. I am not a deep-core tech and reserve the right to be mistaken. :D ODE is the physics engine that started out with OpenSim. Generally speaking ODE is fairly stable, but slow. Think of a Model T Ford that still runs very well. BULLETsim was a replacement for ODE. ...

Re: options hurt my head!!

Although it is now six years later... options still continue to hurt my head. Currently Opensim / Kitely has three primary physics systems: ODE, BULLET, UBODE. The problem is none of the three do all things. Today we ran into major problems, and had to choose between the lesser of three evils. ODE i...

Re: making a script for a ferry to cross water

Halloo. If it goes one way, it will go the other. The question is... how are you getting it to go the one way? There are several ways to do that. Whatever method you use has to be reversed. Just remember with scripting... the script only handles one thing at a time. So if you are moving the ferry, q...
