Re: Join us today at the Kitely Community Meeting (October 25)

Sorry for the double post, but what is the timescale for the ocean option?

If it's a matter of a week or so, I'll hold back on changing Intersections to a Mega World to save me some work. ;-)

Thanks in advance! :)

Re: Join us today at the Kitely Community Meeting (October 25)

At the Kitely Community Meeting, Ilan raised the possibility of inworld land sales for larger worlds (Advanced+). If that were implemented, would the land parcel owners be allowed the same OSSL functions as Estate Manager? See Kitely's list of supported OSSL functions . Another request from the meet...

Well, this announcement has had quite an impact on the size of Kitely grid. It's grown by 500+ regions in a couple of days!

Re: Kitely will be down for 1 hour on October 22

Try the following: 1 Make sure the world closes down completely via the world page on the website. 2 Leave it a few minutes, then try logging into it again. This will enable the world to be in a fresh instance of the server software running the rolled-back version of Linux (as Ilan said: "We're curr...

Kitely grid and website are up and running, Scurvy. Are you having problems with your connection?

Re: For a limited time only: get a huge 64-region Mega World running on a dedicated server for just $99.95/month

Thanks, Ilan, for the helpful, detailed reply.

This suggests that a better approach for me might be to start with an Advanced World, then resize and build the rest "from scratch", optimising resources as I go along.

So, no, I wouldn't be interested in a merge option.

Re: For a limited time only: get a huge 64-region Mega World running on a dedicated server for just $99.95/month

Being able to merge worlds within Kitely would be very useful, especially for larger worlds. From experience trying to create combined OARs offline for a 4x4 Advanced World can be a nightmare, which is why I no longer offer the service. How you might go about creating one for an 8x8 world, well... H...

Re: Bullet vs ODE vs Ubode

Thanks, Wayfinder, for an excellent summary of the issues and choices many of us face.

And thanks, Ilan and Oren, for keeping open the options for each of us to choose whichever physics engine offers the best compromise of features or stability for our particular regions.
