Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

I wonder if there is a way to do it within the forums somehow. One way might be to set up a thread with each separate element having its own post. Then the inidividual posts could be "liked" (and the original poster would gain an enviable total of "likes", so it might not be fair!) Another way, if ...

Welcome Center: A place to linger?

One possible element of the Welcome Center is to have a place where volunteers are on hand to greet visitors and help answer their questions. In the Mentors Meeting of 7 August, the face-to-face welcome was mentioned by several as being key -- how people stay if they meet others. For this to work wi...

Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

A couple of questions: Featured merchants are promised a free shop on the Plaza. Does the potential welcome area have implications for this offer? If so, what effect might it have on what goes on the welcome area? For example, does it mean that there need to be X number of shops in the welcome area?...

Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

Quite a few posts here have touched on the information needs of newcomers to Kitely, and how those needs might be met. In order to facilitate deeper and more detailed discussion of this particularly important aspect, I've set up a new thread: Kitely welcome area: What information? How to provide it?...

Kitely welcome area: What information? How to provide it?

In the discussion thread Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include? , quite a few posts mentioned the types of information that might need to be provided, as well as ways of getting that information across. However it is done, the provision of information will be a key function of the welcom...

Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

From Kitely's point of view, as Ilan made clear: "The main goal, IMO, is therefore to get SL and OpenSim veterans to understand the value of choosing Kitely over SL or some other OpenSim-based grid." This brought to mind Allen's earlier post (http://www.kitely.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=4022#p4022) ...

Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

Thanks, Ilan. That helps to narrow down what is needed in terms of information, and clarifies the audience and some of the priorities for the welcome area. I'll look through the thread so far, and see if it is possible to summarise various options in the light of this.

Re: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

Don't forget that Advanced Megaregions can be showcased by simply visiting a world that is using them for real. Landmarks to good megaregion examples could be given out at the welcome area. As Danko said: I think the main problem with the current plaza is that it tries to do too much. The individual...

Re: What do others think about kitely plaza ?

The two threads serve different purposes.

If people could use the new thread to post ideas about a possible new Kitely welcome area, that would be helpful: Kitely welcome area: What does it need to include?

This thread, I suggest, focuses on the existing Plaza.
