Re: llGetAgentList: Telling NPCs from Avatars

The following seems to work as expected: default { state_entry() { list agents = llGetAgentList(AGENT_LIST_REGION, []); integer i; key id; for (i=0; i<llGetListLength(agents); i++) { id = llList2String(agents, i); if (osIsNpc(id) == 1) { llOwnerSay("NPC "+ llList2String(agents, i)+"\n\r"); } else { ...

Any significant changes as a consequence of the upgrade?

Re: Issue with land...

So just an update.... It almost seems that there is a "slide" limit on objects brought inworld. It does not seem to matter which direction I try to drag the item, once it gets "slid" to far it bounces back to where the slide originally began. I think the default is 48 m in Firestorm but you can alt...

Re: Scripts disappearing, failing after restarts

Not sure what's happening here. I've no experience of losing scripts as far as I'm aware but I guess this is something you could test, i.e. create 100 prims with scripts and see how many still have scripts after a month or so? What are the scripts doing? Are those disappearing in particular location...

Re: Trouble exporting / .dae

Further quick tests show: 1. Yes, you can directly import an exported prim-derived mesh in Firestorm as per your normal practice (the other stuff was for general interest). 2. Firestorm does not seem to support export of textures with prim-derived mesh even if they are full perm. Whether that issue ...

Re: Trouble exporting / .dae

As will become apparent, I tend to avoid mesh whenever possible. Anyway, I just tried this in latest Firestorm with a 7-prim linkset, a red chair with default texture. I set it to full perms and opened the export dialog. Default texture was (unsurprisingly?) rejected although the prims were shown as...

Re: Trouble exporting / .dae

Hmm, it has been a good while since I tried this and I don't recall what viewer I used but it worked up to a point. I was able to export a linkset in dae format and import it into Sketchfab after some further processing. However, I had unresolved issues with textures. My impression at the time was t...

Historic theatres

I've been asked whether there are any builds of historic theatres/theaters in Kitely or on the Hypergrid that can be accessed by students. All information gratefully received.

Re: something is off in physics

On one of my worlds (Seren's World) something is odd about the physics. I created a large platform and flew over and landed. Sank into it. So I got off and made it physical and that worked except for it wiggling a bit. Turned off physical and it worked. Then I did a cut on the square to make it ins...

Re: Best viewer for open sim?

I used Alchemy for teaching this year and was generally pleased with the outcome in terms of its being reasonably robust and easy to use. It also has the advantage that it will run from a shared network folder without the need for any special network install. I haven't done much with the latest vers...
