Re: Towns?
More need to do NPCs, I know folx out in the Meta using them lots. There are a lot of potential uses for NPCs. I'm working on model stands that will allow visitors to my store to see how our shirts look on actual avatars. Eventually I plan to market the model stands to other merchants who want to d...

Re: Towns?
The biggest problem with anything of a city nature, though, is population. Rather, the lack of. It is going to take time until we have enugh people in Kitely to have any city-thing feel like its more than a ghost town. But that's my point. Spreading everyone out over separate islands just empathize...

Flatlanders!! You've got 4 kilometers above you in which to build. I have a single region yet am working on Elkay City in Regio Excelsior. It is three levels at this point and still needs some filling in, but that is only a matter of time. The biggest problem with anything of a city nature, th...

Re: Is there a good 64 bit Linux TPV3 viewer?
Five hours using Singularity under linux yesterday and four more today including teleporting all over the place. I don't know why I ever thought I needed to keep a OS X box up for the sake of my virtual world wandering and activities. I clearly do not. I finally took the plunge and installed Ubuntu...

Re: How many miles....
I think I go the opposite. I tend to use the camera to float around and look at things. I'll also fly to get a fresh angle or when I cam too far for finer control of the camera. But, then again, I don't terraform much. I search the 'Net for a terrain map and use that, building on the terrain as it i...

Re: Is there a good 64 bit Linux TPV3 viewer?
Not 64bit, but Firestorm has a Linux version http://www.firestormviewer.org/downloads/
They do have a Windows 64bit version, so I take that as meaning that they will (eventually) release a Linux 64bit version at some point.

Re: To scale or not to scale?
Haha! Oh dear, this thread seems to have gotten away from me in my absence :). Thanks for all the advice in the first few replies. I decided to eyeball it with the standard SOAS avi, RP regions can have enough hoops to jump through without adding an extra one. And thank you for teaching me stuff ab...
