Re: Resident RoundUp

I strolled around the Kitely Welcome Center world once. It turns out there are several secluded little areas with some seats - obviously intended as venues for small meetings. I'm sure we could find a place there that would suit the number of people who show up for any given meeting. Here's the lis...

Discussion: Guidelines for forum posts

One of the subjects discussed at the Mentors Meeting on 13 November was the need for forum posting guidelines -- how to minimize drama and libel-liability (which can exist in various European countries) while keeping the forum open for free expression. During the meeting, Sherrie Melody suggested a ...

Beautiful world? No visitors?

Have you built a beautiful world in Kitely but are puzzled why no one has visited it yet? Worlds with pictures and descriptions are automatically placed higher in the Kitely world search results. So if your world page description is still blank and you haven't added a screenshot, that might be a rea...

Re: Plan changes in Kitely

This is something the Devokan storybuilders will need to talk about -- we may come to different conclusions for each group of worlds. For what they're worth, these are my current, personal thoughts. The Devokan-based worlds that I'm responsible for will probably continue to use the metered option (t...

Re: Using Stored Inventory

The alpha layers are a bit like skins. You apply them to your avatar, and they make bits of your avatar invisible. They work a lot better than invisi prims. It's worth experimenting with the alpha layers to see how they work. You might be pleasantly surprised with the results. :) In case it helps, h...

Re: Questions and Frustrations

Dagon, there are free worlds to visit that don't use up your minutes, including sandboxes. In these, the world managers subsidise visitors. Another option (if you are on a limited budget like some of us are here) is to buy some KC: http://www.kitely.com/settings Just $5 buys 1,000 KC, and that will ...

Re: Using Stored Inventory

Rather than using invisi prims to hide feet, could you perhaps try a clothing alpha layer?

Re: Devokan Storytellers Gathering, 10 November

One of the ideas I'm thinking of raising at this gathering is whether there might be interest in a shared-home village, built in the Devokan style...

Re: Landing spot

Here's how I do it. In Firestorm, go to World > Region / Estate (alt+R), then click the Region tab. Click the button on the right: "Manage Telehub..." Rez and position an object at the telehub spot, then click "Connect Telehub". Now rez another object close to the telehub spot and click "Add Spawn"....

Re: Plan changes in Kitely

I'll admit that this thread is worrying me. The different time-based plans, with their mix of regions and inworld time, have proved ideal for the sort of storybuilding that I and others have been indulging in over the past few years. Is the idea to switch to a system whereby one pays for all inworld...
