The Viewer Situation on OpenSim

Opening up a can of worms. Please pardon the somewhat frank, no-punches-pulled post here. This is a "for what it's worth" opinion post. : ) This details history with the Firestorm project. I appreciate the Firestorm viewer. It's my favorite. But (at least) two prominent bugs have been left unfixed f...

How deep does the ocean need to be for sailing? My preferred depth for an ocean is 20m. That's deep enough to be "ocean" but still visible. Below 20m and things turn DARK. I have seen some mer communities build up to 100m under the surface, but the viewer had to be placed on special settings to eve...

Re: SPD Sailing Fleet

Follow-up: Actually, the story behind the Rabid Pink Pirates is a bit of humor. Many years ago the founder of Raglan Shire (a huge community of tinies, dinkies, wees, etc)... Zayn Till, proudly acquired a Pirate Ship and docked it for display for his friends to see. He then went AFK... which is never...

Re: Physical prims and how to remove them

Another way to locate physical (or other prims) underground is to visually search for them. This is especially helpful for non-physical objects. You will need to set your Viewer to allow you to look underground. To do this, Disable Camera Constraints and any other viewing restraints defaulted in the...
