Bryn Oh's prim reduction trick
A post on Nalates' blog alerted me to this prim reduction trick described by Bryn Oh. Here's the link to the original post: Bryn Oh: Prim reduction trick The trick is to switch the physics of a regular-prim-based build from "Prim" to "Convex hull". One of the commenters notes that this won't work wi...

Re: Sculptie physics in imported OARs
I had a thought overnight: whether there is a difference between standard single-region OARs and multi-region OARs saved with the --all option. To demonstrate what I mean, I've made a 2x2 test megaregion temporarily public: Devokan Regions TEST Compare this with the layered single region of Skysong ...

Re: Sculptie physics in imported OARs
Yes, it would definitely be a lot of work -- potentially 10+ regions-worth. For one thing, it's not always easy to work out which prim is causing a problem. For example, I suspect that some of the larger "physics spheres" overlap smaller ones, meaning that even if you make the smaller sculpties phan...

Kitely Mentors Group Meeting, 28 Nov 2012: summary
Kitely Mentors Group Meeting 28 November 2012 This week's meeting included another lively brainstorming session led by Ilan on possible features of a web-based Kitely marketplace. The discussion started with a show of hands on who had bought or sold anything in SL, whether inworld and/or via the SL...

Sculptie physics in imported OARs
Some of the Devokan builds are quite old, predating mesh. Many use items from a kit of sculpts with the physics set to the shape of the prim. These seem to work OK in OSgrid, but when the same OAR is imported into Kitely, the physics shape changes to what I guess is a sphere. This makes it impossibl...

Re: Firestorm: cloud avie problems
Thanks, Ilan. To quote the key bit of advice from Cloud Avatars in OpenSim, Possible Problem and How it Can be Fixed (to save linking and scrolling): -Create a new folder in your inventory -Create new shape, skin, eyes and hair (important that you make all 4 wearables) in that folder -Right click th...

Firestorm: cloud avie problems
Is anyone else having problems with their avie not rezzing properly in Firestorm? I've tried the usual methods (control-alt-R to rebake, create a new pair of eyes and so on), but to no avail. Others tried reinstalling Firestorm completely, but that didn't work. Using Imprudence in Kitely the avatar ...

Preparation of megaregion OARs -- NO LONGER OFFERED
Do you have a set of single-region OARs that you need to combine into a megaregion OAR for import into Kitely? I can help by merging the OARs into a single file that you can then upload into a new or existing Kitely world connected to your account. How it works: You make available the single-region ...
