Re: Reverse support. I checked in the .80 version

I don't know what the question was, but my default sandbox is now .80 with bulletsim and varrregion. I didn't manage to translate my megaregion terrain exactly into a varregion terrain, but then I was trying for quickness rather than perfection. Roughly correct is OK for now. My vehicle scripts are ...

Re: Particles

I just briefly checked Quayside. In line with other comments, 1) two chimneys with smoke that have been running for some time are working properly. 2) A cannon which produces a new smoke cloud when fired is giving a sort of two dimensional solid white cloud shape, which then correctly drifts downwin...

Re: What is your one favorite thing about Kitely?

It's easy.

When I started with OpenSim, I had to install a C compiler, hack opensim.ini, and learn some bizarre console commands.

Now I can just tell someone to put Kitely in their google search box, and off they go.
It's much more new-user friendly than anything else I've seen.

Re: Philip Rosedale: Boy Genius Has New Surprises

I thought signing up there was the obvious thing to do, but when I saw it was peer to peer I decided to leave it.
I also had the experience of getting started with Cloud Party, and then having it disappear completely.
On the whole, I'm happy to let someone else be the early adopter ;)

Re: Sounds

probably could use media on a prim. I don't know exactly how. people would usually use streaming from a server for whole tunes. Services like Icecast cover that. And in the forum recently we've seen realchat mentoned http://www.kitely.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1615&p=11473#p11473 But if one can pla...

Re: Sounds

hi Jon

10 seconds is the maximum clip length.
I doubt the viewer will let you upload a longer one.

There are some scripts that will play a number of sound clips in succession, and supposedly allow playing a full length tune, I don't know how good they are.
