Re: Lovely new map tiles

The map has now been updated and seems to work OK (ignore the duplication -- I left one number on the ground as updating appeared later than usual and I was concerned there was an issue with this particular world). The box with the numbers is on the left wall of the entrance to the mall (number 3 on...

Re: Lovely new map tiles

Well, I don't know whether it is a LOD issue but the mesh character didn't work. There's also the issue of shadows, especially at midday. If you run your viewer at higher graphics settings with shadows switched on you will see the shadow of the disk on the ground or, if you set that to 100% trans, t...

Handy Sticky Notes script

I have been playing around with giant versions of Maria Korolov's sticky notes and finding them very helpful for mocking up layouts. The script can be obtained as part of her messageboard on the Kitely Market or on her business website: http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Pos...

Re: Lovely new map tiles

And the final experiment is to try it with a mesh character... And yes, I think it's a useful, albeit non-immersive, way to give directions to new avatars, especially students who might not have the time to learn about landmarks, inventory, etc, and where you don't want obtrusive teleport gizmos or ...

Re: Lovely new map tiles

It seems to work with a 20 m cylinder/disk at 100 m and 200 m but not 300 m. In case you were wondering, doubleclicking the image of the prim on the map takes your avatar to the equivalent ground location so it is potentially useful for navigation. I don't know whether it's significant but the image...

Re: Using Sloodle

I've almost zero experience of Sloodle -- please let us know how you get on.

Is it possible to setup and use Sloodle in my Kitely region? If so, how do I go about getting this accomplished?
Thanks

Re: Emails for class registration are failing

I have asked for further information. If I get any I will PM you.

PS: This seems to have been an entirely local issue, nothing to do with Kitely, end of story.

Re: Emails for class registration are failing

It looks as though it's nothing to do with anti-spam measures, more to do with problems with the sending servers, i.e. Amazon cloud, trying something in protocol terms that we don't accept. Hopefully this can be fixed locally; if not we will need to get students to register in advance of class or us...

Re: Lovely new map tiles

I can confirm that prims at 100 m show up though they naturally don't display textures. I'm trying 200 m and 300 m now with a simple prim-built number on a white disk. The idea in this case is to use numbers on the map as an additional navigation device. Out of curiosity, did it work? ...? hmmm...we...
