Re: Action NPC on Ohn Freebies World
These look awesome Ohn, thank you! I always wanted a few NPCs in my RP sims as quest givers, lore-tellers, tavern and shop owners and such. I shall be having a tinker with these for sure!

Re: Introduce Yourself...
Hey Everyone! :D I have been in SL since 2007 and for the last 2 years ran a fairly successful Medieval/Fantasy themed roleplay region called Darkwatch Keep, but sadly the cost of expanding and maintaining what we already had became unbearable and we shut up shop just before Christmas. Since then I ...

Re: Building resource - Extended licenses from SL creators
On the subject of sculptmaps. I found this store: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/10499 Its mostly sculpts for clothing and avi parts. In the terms it states "Items bought in Second Life may not be imported or used in any other virtual world. Please join the M&M Sculptie Grid Exchange grou...

Re: Building Your Role Play World
Fair point Dinero, but I do contend that the info will be useful to most people at some point.
I have started a thread in the Building and Texturing sub-forum.

Building resource - Extended licenses from SL creators
It has been discussed on the Roleplay forum that it would be nice to open up a resource dedicated to listing the creators of SL who either do not mind users using their content in ther worlds, or who offer extended licenses to do such. As this relates to textures and sculptmaps mostly, I figured thi...

Re: Building Your Role Play World
I second Ohns suggestion! A resource thread would be great as a sticky. :geek: Adagio has a very good point. I make a habit of keeping all conversations, and prefer getting written permission via email if the creator is ok with that. I am trying to work with the larger more established creators with...

Re: Building Your Role Play World
Horatio Clawtooth is another sculptmap/texture creator I have found yesterday with some good medieval stuff who also seems very open to people using his stuff on other grids. To quote: "The main idea is to have fun, isnt it?" indeed it is. Plenty of ramparts, gates and other bits and pieces in...

Re: Building Your Role Play World
thanks for the heads up about snappytrees! Sadly I tried it out today and it seems to not want to export anything. I am using chrome and trying to load in Blender, but no mater the option I choose, it spits out an 8kb file which is empty  so no snappy trees for me just yet. I am downloading oth...

Re: Building Your Role Play World
Hi Bladyblue :) I am actually working on a medieval themed RP region too and ran into some of the same problems as you. I am taking a slightly different approach to those recommended above, though those are also excellent resources. I am good with the basic building tools and can make my own structu...

Re: Bryn Oh's prim reduction trick
I also have been using this trick in SL for a while and became quite well versed. Basically, you can apply the trick to standard prims, but avoid cylinders and torvus as they naturally have a higher render cost. Also try to avoid prims which contain scripts. Monitor your LE carefully, as it can work...
