I have been trying to create a group. I get the message:
Unable to create group assertion failed.
According to Firestorm, I have plenty of group slots left. I have tried 3 different group names in case one had been used and abandoned. No joy. I don't understand "assertion" in this context,
Can't create a group

Re: Can't create a group
Hi Selby,
This sounds like some viewer error. Have you tried creating a group with another viewer (such as Singularity)?

Re: Can't create a group
Take off ALL group tags and try again. I know, sounds counter-intuitive, but that is how groups have been working for some time now. If that does not fix the problem for you, I have no clue, but this has worked for everyone else who has mentioned having the same problem.

Re: Can't create a group
Thanks Ilan, Freda. I tried Freda's solution at the Kitely meeting; it did not work. I will try it again in a quiet place. Then fall back to singularity if needed. Or maybe check with Firestorm.

Re: Can't create a group
Update: I tried activating "none" in the groups list -- that did not work.
I tried creating a group in Singularity -- that did not work.
But I think I may have found the problem:
I am a member of a group called Hyper Grid Events Announcements @ 127.0.0.1
URI (as copied from Firestorm): secondlife:///app/group/266de0b7-a1f7-4c8b-8ee6-98495da4df89/about
Something seems to have gone wrong in the record on this group, because it shows no members and I am unable to leave it.
My suspicion is that this is another instance of "an unhappy database will screw you."
