Using Kitely tools to extract smaller OARs from a varregion

Post by Dot Matrix »

Suppose you have a 4x4 Advanced World (Big4x4), but want to extract and save an OAR of a smaller section of it (3x3, 2x2, or single region) for use elsewhere.

Kitely's web-based tools make it easy to do this.

First, go to https://www.kitely.com/myworlds, and click the "Copy" link in the row for Big4x4. Call the new copy "Big4x4-Clone", say. This will make an exact copy of Big4x4 and add a row for Big4x4-Clone to the "My Worlds" table -- Big4x4-Clone will be a Stored World. Making a copy of a world like this costs 150 KC (approx 50 cents).

Next, click "Manage" in the row for Big4x4-Clone; this opens the "Manage World" dialog box at the "Basic" tab. To resize the world, follow these instructions: Resize Kitely Worlds Using a Graphical Tool, choosing a smaller size. Use the blue arrows to move the highlighted area on the map until it shows the area you want to extract from the larger world. Then click the "Resize" button.

Now you can save an OAR of the smaller world in the usual way.
