Unable to communicate after teleport

Serene and I had this happen a couple days ago. We were briefly on the same sim, then one tp'd away and we were still talking. She could see my ims to her inworld but the ones she sent me were going to my email and she got a message saying I was not inworld. She logged out and back in and that fixed the problem. I am on most recent firestorm.

Can you pinpoint when this problem started? Does it happen when teleporting to/from the Kitely Welcome Center as well?

I myself have only noticed this the last few weeks. It suddenly was affecting myself and others that I was communicating with. Id have to relog or go to where they were - or vice versa. Not sure if its happened from kitely welcome centre or not.

Searching my IM logs, the earliest reference I can find to the issue (assuming this is the same issue) is from October 2014, but in that I'm referring to it as a known problem so it predates even that time.

Come to think of it-- when it happened to Serene and me, I tried relogging first. It did not correct until we had BOTH relogged.

Yes, it's always been necessary for both parties to relog in my experience too.

What usually happens with me is that a few minutes later I forget and TP again, and we have to do it all over again.

So is this a problem that has always existed on all OpenSim grids? (I'm trying to understand whether it is Kitely-specific or not - i.e. a result of how our system works or an OpenSim bug)

for me , honestly it has only been a few weeks. I remember at the time thinking that it had not happened since an update that was done. It was suddenly affecting myself and those i talk with daily. Im not in any other opensim grids really so im not sure if its widespread.

I couldn't really say whether other grids are affected - I don't recall TPing while in an IM session anywhere other than Kitely in recent years.

Just to add: Ilan, I'm pretty confident I can reproduce this issue on demand, so if it helps, maybe we could arrange a time to do some testing. I'm highly motivated to get this one fixed.

I haven't noticed this happening in other places.
