Visitor couldn't stay still...

Post by Johnny Magic »

I am currently setting up a space for our international company to hold meetings with people from all over the world, etc and trying to work out the bugs. First new member/visitor today couldn't stay still. No control over his movements. Continous walking, etc, until he used the " stop animation". Every time he tried to move, it happened again. He's in Ireland, I'm in Peru. Anybody know what the problem might be?

Hi Johnny,

If he's up to it, please ask him to open the viewer statistics window and check for packet loss and bandwidth usage. Also please verify that he wasn't' running any bit torrent or similar client in the background. Peer-to-peer applications can easily create sufficient packet loss to make the UDP-based protocol that the viewer uses very unreliable.

Ok, thanks. Will check the next time we are together. Would a bad internet connection or speed/bandwidth at his end result in that kind of problem as well?

It could. This is much more likely to happen if he is on a mobile-based or WiFi connection where the latency is high.
