I have noticed over the last couple weeks that notices sent through the Kitely Community Group take much longer than those sent through others. No biggie, I thought, just send event notices a half hour or so before event time to guarantee delivery. Then, Saturday, the notice I tried to send for my 2 PM concert never went at all and the same thing has happened this morning. Both show in the previous group notices list inworld, but neither has ever been delivered.
I note also that Freda's Place notices take longer than Miramar PR or Town Crier, but they do eventually show up.

Hi Freda,
Are you talking about offline messages or one that are delivered inworld?

Update: The notice I sent this morning through Kitely Community group went without a hitch. Took about 5 minutes for it to come through but it *did* come through.

I got several notices on Dec 24 about the 11 am concert, so I think things are working normally now.Freda Frostbite wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 5:24 pmUpdate: The notice I sent this morning through Kitely Community group went without a hitch. Re: Problem with Inworld Notices
Hi Freda,
Group notices in OpenSim / SL are sent to your viewer over the unreliable UDP protocol which means that the amount of time it takes you to receive them inworld is highly dependent on the network activity between you and the sim you're connected to. If you're in an empty world you're more likely to get them quickly than if you're in a complex one with many moving entities (objects / NPCs / avatars).

Re: Problem with Inworld Notices
That all makes sense, Ilan, except that, for the Saturday show, my notice never made it to me at all even though the same notice sent through other groups did. And notices through Kitely Community Group always take longer than others. I have assumed that is do to the size of the group. IN any case, today's notices went through so whatever was not working Saturday was working today. We can chalk it up as one of many thousand mysteries of the metaverse.

The bigger the group the longer it will take for the system to send notices to all the people who are registered to get updates. If it takes long enough you might not get it at all during that session.
