One of the common responses to the two ideas I offered above, was "Linda Kellie" already has all this.
I refer you again to the original question : "What can KITELY DO in order to encourage creators add content to the marketplace".
Many excellent creators do not know about Linda or other free stuff out there on the web. KITELY could make the difference as to whether these creators come to KITELY or not.
KITELY could make things more clear for those who are not as knowlegable about where-to-get things as some of the esteemed folks in the mentor's group.
That is the point.

As for me, this is NOT what I am wanting--I actually enjoy the process of discovery. I don't need or want Kitely to do this for me.
But KITELY ASKED WHAT CAN THEY DO to get OTHER creators in there stuffing things into the marketplace as quickly as possible.
THAT is what these ideas are meant to address.

Sorry for the CAPS--just trying to make things more clear.

Well, I think your post is well thought out-))

I would add a couple of my own observations:

I didn't think the use of the word "complain" was chosen wisely, myself, but then I don't do the summaries [and I don't want to either]

You came in after there had been several weeks of discussions about your topic, here and at the meetings...honestly, some had already talked it to death....I think it was mentioned at the meeting the forums would be best to further discuss that, as you doing here-)) The attempt is made to keep the meetings to two hours is all, nothing was against you per se, just the worn out topic...which is not to say, of course, it could still use discussion, but there has been quite a lot on it already, and there is much to do in so many things.

And as it looks like you already added, and my own observation, is that IF ppl from sl are even aware of LK items, they have no clue what to do with that knowledge, or so little as to be useless without guidance.

The learning curve for sl peeps is quite high and one of the reasons I don't even attempt to do it...feeling others would rather enjoy that...hehehehe

Sierra Jakob wrote: 1) Kitely would do well to offer under the create a "New World" section--the offer of a world tailored to creators, including in-world photo-studios, model posers, and boxes of raw materials--textures, animations, scripts, etc. Recognizing that moving to a new place like Kitely, from a place one is already established--like Second Life--does involve much work.
I think this is an excellent idea - an uncluttered Island with just practical builders/creators resources rather than repeating the resources that are available in the plaza or the many LK stocked areas.

Yes, I agree. It would be fairly easy to create. And it would undoubtedly sell. I will probably eventually make one and sell it in the Marketplace. But correctly me if I'm wrong, I thought Ilan asked what KITELY (excuse the caps again) can do to encourage creators to get stuff in the marketplace more quickly. Am I just misunderstanding? Was this question actually a euphemism for "What are you mentors going to do about this issue?"

i was thinking more along the lines of linda's items...in fact, you can get them yourselves easily....here is how i would do it

go here:

http://lkstuff.softpawhost.com/oars/

get the "buildingsupply.tgz

import it to your world after exporting what you have there first [assuming you wish to put it back later]

alone, this oar has tons of entry level items...

if you need more, then you can do several things from least difficult to more so

1) if you only have one region in kitely then once it is imported then take what you want into your inventory,
then load any others one at a time and take whatever you think you may need..then put your own back in

2) if you have several regions simply load the oars you want into them, leave them there until your finished and put urs back in

3] you can get http://simonastick.com/ and run regions on your own computer, load all the oars you want, put what you want from them into one, save it, then import it to your kitely region

Thank you for your input Sierra.

The goal of the question I asked was to let us know what needs to be addressed to help SL merchants offer their wares in Kitely Market. Some suggestions Kitely can implement itself and some things we have no ability to do without the help of the Kitely Mentors group.

We have no unique freebie items we can give merchants to use as components, other than the same Linda Kellie items that people have repeatedly uploaded into Kitely. As we stated in the meeting, there are already several free access worlds on Kitely that give away Linda Kellie's content. Those worlds appear when people go the the Public Worlds page and press the Shopping link, so people don't have to know about Linda Kellie in advance.

There are reasons why we don't give away a lot of free content to people arriving to Kitely (although people can easily find it in Kitely or upload it from third-party sites):

1) Anything we give away will quickly become as frequently seen as the Linda Kellie items. This goes for both complete items and item components that merchants use to build their own products. Merchants that build items that look like everyone else's items will have a hard time selling their goods.

2) Giving away a lot of free content can reduce the number of items people will buy from merchants (some of the mentors in past meetings took quite a strong view against giving away freebies in the Kitely Market).
