Re: Upcoming feature: Virtual Private Grids
Great news, I can't wait to start - It all starts with a cube, but thanks to Opensim now it can all start with an OAR, cheers

Hi Ilan,Ilan Tochner wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 3:42 pmWe'll be adding the ability to host Virtual Private Grids on top of Kitely so that organizations will be able to control what their users do and who they can interact with. This will include having dedicated viewer login pages for the organizations using this new offering.
We expect this feature to be ready by September 1st.
I'm a member of a couple groups in Kitely, and I love Kitely. I'm considering getting my own starter world. I work with a large public university, and wonder if I can upgrade my starter world to an organizational one later?
The reason I'm not ready to commit to the organizational one yet is I'm kind of a lone wolf at my institution with virtual worlds, and I'm networking more with people outside of my school. But if I build something awesome and get more interest over time I can hopefully secure commitment and funding to covert to organizational one. I have a project I might like to build over the next year and I'm still kind of a newbie, and certainly a newbie to administering a region. So I'm thinking I might want to play around for a year or so, but not lose whatever I create on my starter world.
Sorry for the long question, I'm just hoping you reply "oh that's easy! Just get a starter world and get going!"
Thanks!
Bethany

Re: Upcoming feature: Virtual Private Grids
Hi Bethany,
Oh that's easy! Just get a starter world and get going!
You can assign (and unassign) your Starter World to an Organization at any time. The world will continue being owned by your account but access to it will then be controlled by the Organization it's assigned to at the time.
I would, however, recommend you create a dedicated Kitely account that is separate from your main (avatar) account to hold that world. That way, once you're ready, you'll be able to use that account to create the Organization and have that account pay for both the world and the Organization.
