Reminder (so it doesn't get lost with the new page)
*** indicates worlds that, to my knowledge, are yet to be photographed. Please make these a priority, and/or let me know if photos have already been sent to Ilan. Thanks!

8:5 aspect ratio, 1024 maximum resolution. Deadline: 30 August -- sooner if possible.
Ilan wrote:Images should be taken at maximum possible graphics settings (Ultra, anti aliasing on, draw distance set to max, WindLight on, etc.) and saved directly to your computer in png (uncompressed format) at 1024x1024 resolution. This provides us with the maximum flexibility regarding future use.

Send images to our contact email with the subject line "Image for KWC world showcase": http://www.kitely.com/contact and inworld to Dot.

In the email include the world page URL, e.g: http://www.kitely.com/virtual-world/Ila ... tely-Plaza and attach the aforementioned image.

Each world showcase includes one image, not a slideshow, so pick one image that is most visually impressive and representative of that world.

First, to ensure that others don't get the wrong idea, I'm not offended nor was the description offensive, it was simply incorrect.

As for a correct one ...

Regio Excelsior, an outpost of Excelsior Station, is a loosely themed sci-fi world of experimental builds dedicated to combat enabled role play.

I attempted taking pics of Vaguery, Gallery Island, and Friendship Skills. I sent them to Dot, but they aren't the best quality. My computer struggled with the Ultra settings and finally just crashed the whole pc :(

Thanks, Sarge. I'm glad that's sorted out.

Thanks, Sherrie -- there are some good snapshots there, especially the one of Friendship Skills -- good composition. My computer struggles with Ultra settings too, especially if I enable shadows. It makes it v-e-r-y d-i-f-f-i-c-u-l-t >tomove< -- all jerky, and then suddenly my avie has overshot where I was aiming for!

For those struggling with Ultra settings I suggest switching them to High, positioning yourself inworld, framing the shot and only then switching to Ultra mode. Take the shot then switch back to High. This way you'll be able to capture great shots even though you can hardly move in Ultra mode.

Weird thing is, i had no trouble moving. I was camming around and then my monitors went black, then they came back after a second, and i thought it was just a glitch, then a minute later, they both went black and my computer started making big whirring sounds, yikes, and clicked off. scared me  now i am scared to go back into Ultra again, lol.

Hi Sherrie,

The whirring sounds are probably your CPU, GPU and case fans speeding up to max speed in an attempt to cool down your computer due to the heavy load it is in when you're using Ultra mode. When that didn't work well enough your computer automatically shut down when it crossed the max safe temperature threshold in order to not burn out any components.

You can avoid this type of heating problem by getting better ventilation for your computer. If your computer fans can't circulate air then things will warm up quickly (especially in the summer). You should leave your computer case room to breath. If that isn't enough then you can significantly cool things down by opening up your computer case and leaving it open. DO NOT DO THIS unless you know what you're doing, you make sure it doesn't violate your warranty, and you keep away any people, animals and objects that can get inside the case and hurt themselves and/or the computer. Another (more expensive) option is to replace the case and CPU fans with something more powerful (and possibly get a better GPU fan as well).

And that's me out. As before, these images expire in 30 days so please grab them if you want them. Some may have been slightly distorted during resizing but I don't think it's anything too major.

I actually do this...keeping my draw at minimum, cam out and position, then go to ultra for the shot.

One thing for me is that I can't move my cam smoothly enough in ultra to position where I want, my way I can.
