Please download a copy of Blender at Blender.org before class and look at it.
In our first half hour you will meet your new friend, Blender! Everything is demonstrated on screen inworld so you can see Blender in action.
For the second part of the class, we'll open up to people with all levels of experience to chat in voice or text about Blender projects, challenges, works in progress, random discoveries. Some of us share our screens via Screenleap. All levels of skill welcome.
Blender is a marathon, not a sprint. Hang in there.

Scripting Smooth Motion without Physics

This is an intermediate scripting class given in voice and shared screen by Kayaker Magic.
I will show several ways to use the llSetKeyframedMotion (KFM) function to make things move.
- How to make calling KFM as easy as calling llSetPos (only better!).
- How to create looped movement.
- How to record and play back prim movement.
- Time permitting, how to use KFM to fly a critter around.

This is an informal session for ESL learners upper intermediate +. You are welcome to drop in at any time but you might miss something. Oh and we rarely finish on time. This isn't a lesson per se.
We usually meet up in the pub, and then decide on a topic on a week by week basis (decided on the forum or randomly by Lynne). From time to time, we will play a game or quiz, but it's only for fun.

The Ransom of Red Chief: It looked like a good thing: but wait till I tell you. We were down South, in Alabama -- Bill Driscoll and myself -- when this kidnapping idea struck us. It was, as Bill afterward expressed it, 'during a moment of temporary mental apparition'; but we didn't find that out till later.
