Have been trying to update group parameters for ELF CLAN. Owners of the group have not been able to update role abilities or role names.

Hi Snoots,

This may be a Firestorm issue, please try using Singularity for this.

I tried using Singularity. Same results.

What world where you in when you tried to make these changes? A very optimized one like Kitely Welcome Center, or one where a lot of moving objects can cause the group management messages sent to your viewer to get delayed beyond their timeout time?

Well, just on a whim I tried and experiment. It worked, but it's an odd one.

When changing a Role Title, one has to change the title, Save the change, and then EXIT the group profile box entirely. When the group profile is accessed again, the title is changed.

If one just Saves the title change but does not exit the profile box, the title doesn't stick.

What doesn't make sense is that when I did this before, exited the box and logged off... the title didn't stick either. It was required that I re-open the box while still online. I'm not sure why, or even if that's a consistent result. Methinks this at least bears taking a look at. Because... we gotta keep Oren busy, right? mwahahahahaa....

Anyhow, for anyone trying to change group role titles, that's the way to do it: change the name, save, exit profile box, reload profile box.

The viewer likely isn't queering the server for updated group information unless you reopen the profile dialog and it likely isn't updating the group title without first queering the server. In other words, a viewer-side issue that needs to be fixed in the viewer. I recommend you report it to Firestorm, if it's an issue that exists in SL as well then they are much more likely to fix it.
