Maria has published the March 2014 report: http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2014/0 ... s-article/

The numbers for Kitely are:
March 2014: 5655 (+64) regions; 18905 registered users (+717); active users 629 (+30)

The increase in active users was enough to take Kitely up a notch in the top ten most popular grids. It is now in 6th place, just above Craft Grid.

In terms of virtual land area, Kitely is the second largest OpenSim grid, with 5655 regions compared with OSgrid's recently pared-down 7376 regions.

Scanning the raw data, in terms of new registrations the top four grids are: InWorldz 1476, Kitely 717, OSgrid 643, Avination 615.

While the numbers have little meaning for me personally anymore, other than overall trending, there is some interesting things that can still be pulled from them.

To name just a few off the top of my not- to- interested head...lol

OSG and Craft, are, of course, part of the non-commercial aspects, and thus most numbers do not especially matter to them. Regions come and go for all sorts of reasons.

So of the commercial side of things Kitely is doing well, especially when one notes that a large percentage of the people, currently are not in the other commercial grids. Because what that does is skew the activity...I know many people who roam just the commercial grids, going to them daily on a rotation thing because that is all they know about.

With other skewing of numbers I would suggest if one reduced them by 1/4 or even more, they would get a more likely real number of individuals.

As to land mass, Kitely is more like free opensim in that their pricing is in line with current trending, which is free to little costs, and so land numbers become much less relevant. Though of course there are many folks who place much value in such things, even without paying much attention, if at all, as to what they really say.

But if I was to point out anything, it would be in the active avatar new accounts changes, where inwz dropped 204, AVN dropped 179 and Kitely gained 30.

This may not seem like much, and it isn't, but it is a gain rather than a loss, which to my eyes is interesting-))

I posted this thought on g+...

"these are the numbers i find most interesting [as i am too lazy to do the math myself-))]

"The biggest changes on this list this month was that Virtual Highway replaced AviWorlds in the ninth position. AviWorlds lost 53 active users this month, dropping from 372 to 319. Craft kept its position despite losing 83 actives, and InWorldz dropped by 225"

Since regions numbers no longer matter to my eye...and just to notice some numbers even tho i know there are several issues with ALL the numbers i dont care to get into much anymore...it just seems interesting when declining numbers are indicated as, especially in the commercial grids [since none of that hardly matters elsewhere] they go down.

of course the numbers are so small as to be statistically not very useful anyways and if you give them some decent margin of error for various reasons they are not accurate, the picture could easily change.

and of course, as she always rightfully notes, there are many many places for which counts are not included for various reasons but which are indicative enough to see clearly where things are trending..."

Maria has posted the numbers for Kitely in her May survey.

The numbers for the year so far are:
January 2014: 5575 (+406) regions; 17266 registered users (+641); active users 522 (-119)
February 2014: 5591 (+16) regions; 18188 registered users (+922); active users 599 (+77)
March 2014: 5655 (+64) regions; 18905 registered users (+717); active users 629 (+30)
April 2014: 5669 (+14) regions; 19838 registered users (+933); active users 723 (+94)
May 2014: 5609 (-60) regions; 20553 registered users (+715); active users 587 (-136)

At the time of my posting this, Kitely's number of active users is given as 723 in the main article, not 587 as in the raw statistics for May. Maria comments that she is posting this article on the road, which might explain the discrepancy. However, even with that change, Kitely retains its place as the sixth most popular OpenSim-based grid.

The Market added another 100+ items this month.

Just waking up here, so please forgive me if I somehow mis-read your comment Dot, but did you mean to put this link in that?
