Fast Company interviewed me about OpenSim, the truly decentralized precursor to the metaverse that already exists with a viable virtual goods ecosystem and no reliance on blockchain technology.

Thank you Ada,

The writer interviewed me for over an hour and chose a sample of quotes to get his main point across, leaving what I considered some very important things out. But even so, I think it should get more people interested in looking into OpenSim. Or at the very least it can help some developers realize why a centrally managed metaverse is a bad idea and how you don't have to build the metaverse on blockchain technology to create a truely decentralized ecosystem.

Can you put the whole thing into a blog post and publicize that? I think interest is increasing. We're all seeing far too many articles on "the Metaverse" that never mention OpenSim.

The immediate thing anyone interested in OpenSim can do is like, retweet/share and comment on the Tweet and the LinkedIn post I listed above. If we get enough engagement then those social media posts will be promoted on these respective platforms and that may help spread the word better than any blog post I write on our blog or even on Hypergrid Business (which is the most read website that currently covers OpenSim).

Fast Company has a lot more mainstream media clout than anything OpenSim related and there is already an okay article that helps get the message across. We should try to focus our attention on this tweet thread and LinkedIn post as that will affect their ranking algorithm more than several separate tweets or posts about this.

I phrased the tweet to be attractive to people who aren't already OpenSim users, we just need to amplify it enough so that Tweeter will display it to that wider audience. The more Likes, shares and comments they get the more people Twitter and LinkedIn will display these to.

Ilan, do you happen to have a copy of the entire Interview... including important items that were omitted in the final version?

No, I don't Snoots. It was done using a Zoom call.
