Dragons' Teeth

Post by Graham Mills »

This is a short video looking at this Devokan Trust world created by Paislee Myrtle. As you can tell, I don't do much machinima and, bad workman that I am, I have to say that MS Movie Maker didn't exactly help (known to be ultra-crashy with Win8 under some circumstances). https://vimeo.com/82945763

PS: It's come to my attention that the WindLight setting I used was incorrect (too much "misty morning"). Until I find a better video editing platform (and maybe develop some relevant skillz), I'm not going to try again. However, if anyone is an experienced machinima artist looking for a subject I would encourage you to contact Dot or Paislee Myrtle. I'll leave the video online for the moment but it will probably fade away in due course.

PS: moved apostrophe to agree with world name (oops!)

Many thanks, Graham. There are some nice camera angles in the video, even if the misty morning makes it a very different place!

The "official" Windlight setting is (TOR) SCIFI Golden. The swollen sun, dark sky and stars colour the world's atmosphere.

Hi Ami

Yes, I've heard good things about it but I think I overdid the camming shots anyway. My next hardware purchase is going to be an Oculus Rift or similar (maybe, hopefully) 8-)

The only incorrect video is the one you don't make because you don't think it will be good enough. Here is an article I posted a while back about resources for making videos in virtual worlds
http://virtualoutworlding.blogspot.com/ ... rtual.html

I use Camtasia now, but have used WMM in the past. (Never on Win8, thank God.) There are other suggestions in above article, including a free-ware.

I sometimes run (embed) videos in my blog, so if anybody makes one (Prefereablu 5-10 mins) I would be glad to hear about it. I think YouTube is best for an embedded video source. Vimeo sometimes pulls videos after a while.

Sadly it doesn't work with Nvidia mobile versions so I can't help. Nice to know about though. What's the issue?

nvidia shadowplay does hardware video recording of full screen games with very little performance hit. MOST full screen games record seamlessly with zero effort. There are very few configuration options. Very few. Firestorm in full screen mode is totally ignored.
