Just a quick update!
over the summer I am working on something else (if I told you what I'd have to kill you ) and the Guild is sort of on the back burner.
However, I am planning big things. There will be an inworld location containing:
*Full perm builders freebies. You can get lots of freebies on Opensim, but the Guild will focus of full perm stuff that can be resold as part of builds.
*Tutorial area - A well curated library of links of tutorials for Blender, Avastar etc. Focus on free to use programs.
*Sandbox area - This will be cleaned weekly, and also host building competitions and classes.
*Monthly Merchant Meeting - A forum for established merchants to talk about issues, network and support each other.
*Monthly Builder's Forum - A monthly get together for everyone to talk about their projects, seek help and advice or just goof off.
I am also putting together a 3 month repeating curriculum where all the basic topics of Blender will be covered. Guest teachers are welcome to cover more advanced topics as special classes as they choose.
If the community would like to help out, I would be very greatful for links to tutorials, freebies and resources in general. If you have ideas for the Guild you think I have overlooked, let me know!
The inworld group is becoming more active and is open to all!
As I am in the European (GMT+1) timezone, I am also seeking a teacher in the American timezone who could run classes at least weekly.
I will keep this thread updated as things progress.

Hypergrid education community: Instruction on offer
Here is a link to an article where I am collecting instruction links. There are lots of links to tutorials about Blender.

These are all web-based and could be posted on prims.

Re: Builder's Guild In-world Group
I'm happy to offer Blender classes beginner through intermediate. I'm currently doing them on my own land, but would rather contribute to a collaborative space where I can.

Re: Builder's Guild In-world Group
Two trees teaching Blender sounds awesome! Would be happy to have you aboard Serene.
I can teach Blender, GIMP and In-world stuff. All the other programs I use are paid for, so I dont see much point in covering them.

I suppose I could help with teaching scripting, though there are doubtless more talented scripters than I who could also help.

Re: Builder's Guild In-world Group
Cool! Will there be video of these classes? Or are they planned to be in world only?
