In addition to special activities surrounding the fifth anniversary of Devokan in OpenSim (see announcements elsewhere), the regular monthly gathering of the Devokan Storytellers group takes place this weekend, on Sunday, 8 February 2015 at 16:00 UTC in the world of Devokan on Kitely grid …4p UK…11a US ET…8a US PT

The gathering gives storytellers, storybuilders, writers and roleplayers inspired by the Myst/Uru genre and related genres, the opportunity to share ideas, news, information, gossip, tea, biscuits, thoughts on issues of interest or concern and possibly even to inspire collaboration. We gather on the second Sunday of each month. New and potential members and the simply curious are most welcome. You can also join our inworld group, Devokan Storytellers.

Notes from Devokan Storytellers Gathering - 8 February 2015

Place: Devokan, Kitely

In attendance: Danko Whitfield, Ruby ODegee, Nara Nook, Dot Matrix, Suzanne Steamweaver

Dot gave a recap of highlights from the events surrounding the fifth anniversary of Devokan in OpenSim. These events included multiple tours over two weekends of some of the Devokan regions on Kitely and a concert the previous evening in the Time Vault region.

Dot also mentioned Filbert Holmer's work in linking the new Devokan standalone grid to various Devokan-related sims around the hypergrid.

Dot also reported she has continued updating the collection in the Devokan Trust archive.

Danko related he has a new story idea he is working on for his Towers storyline and the companion build that is in its early stage, working title: Chronos.

Ruby said she will be opening a new region on Kitely. She also will be offering an inworld class in Blender for beginners.

Nara invited Devokan to work on a project to establish story-related tours for the Hypergrid Nights group. Danko and Suzanne will work on the project. Dot and Danko will confer on a plan to get it started.

The subject of games and interactive stories came up and Suzanne offered to assist on a project to incorporate games within a Devokan world. Dot said this is an aspect she has long wanted to bring to our inworld places and stories.

I am thrilled to be working on the project. From what I have observed so far, the Devokan's have a lovely story of their own, intermingled with - but separate from - their roots in the original stories.
