8/21 -- 10:30 AM Grid Time, French Historical Poetry (Kingdom of Florin)

All Thursdays in August -- 1:00 PM Grid Time Historically Themed Dance Parties at Frostbite Thane.

The Grand Ball will be held August 28 at 11:00 AM Grid Time at The Kingdom of Florin. Dress for any historical period, though the sim is 18th century France. The musical stream and dances will be appropriate to the period. We believe there will be historical costumes available on site that day for any who wish to dress for the occasion.

If you are interested in hosting literary and/or music events in your historical region during Kitely's History Festival, please contact me inworld or via email. FredaFrostbite@gmail.com

I combed through this topic and compiled a list of the participants so far. If you want to add your region, IM me. This is going to be fun!

History Month Participants
Participation just means you have something that is historical and you want to be added to the list so people can find you and visit during History Month. You can also host an event organized by yourself, or volunteer to host an event organized by someone else. It’s all very open.

Nice, lovely jobly, I do confess that I don't follow the forums so much due to lack of time. (Thanks Oz for mentioning it in the group)
I'll try to get some things finished. Since our region (Val Sancy) looks more as a build platform for the time being and since more then 3/4 is empty if wished we can help by making terrain available.
If somebody would like to have Flemish polyphony music (examples. Guillaume Dufay, Philippus de Monte, Johannes Ockeghem, Obrecht, Orlandus Lassus and others yes, also have Hildegarde von Bingen) please give a yell inworld.

I learned today that Seanchai Library will participate in the history festival. They'll do some event or other centered around the 1900's, so during the final week of the fest. I'll let you know more specifics when they know and inform me. My understanding is that their Checkhov exhibit area will be part of this.

That is GREAT news, Freda. I'll add them to the list above.

I believe Ravyn is doing something with an Irish castle at Risa as well, so I'll add that too.

Anyone else I should add as a participant? Remember, "participant" just means you have a history-related build on your world that people are welcome to visit. It doesn't have to be more than that.

I think we may also want a volunteer list for folks that are willing to help out on someone else's region. People willing to do things like building, texturing, scripting, terraforming, sign making, etc.

History Month

With History Month upcoming in Kitely, I want to call attention to this G+ community. It is about history in general. I think that should include virtual representations of historical in virtual worlds. This community may be a useful resource for historical references and a good outlet for posting pictures from History Month. I will be posting articles about Kitely History month in the G+ History community.

WooHOO! Wald Schridde, a renaissance music maker, will be performing on Sunday, the 14th, at 12 noon, grid time. Wald is an experienced live performer in virtual and as well sold worlds. He is incredibly knowledgeable and a genuinely nice guy. I am sooooo pleased we have him in the line-up.

I have a certain weakness for Animoto 30 sec videos (freebie account, 3 images, text, caption, music... what's not to like?)

Overwrought promo teasers FTW :)
