Blender Buddies moving to Cookie II, Th 5:30pm & Fri 10am

Post by Mike Lorrey »

As Serene Jewell is absent from Kitely for an extended period due to illness and some RL activism, Ada Radius and I are going to be sharing responsibility in running the Blender for Beginners/Blender Buddies classes, and they are moving to the Hobo Sandbox in Cookie II. We have had some classes in SLexit's sandbox in the interim, but we decided since Serene is on the board of the arts group that runs Cookie II, we will try to host it there in their sandbox. I will teach the Thursday evening classes at 530pm SLT, and Ada will handle the Friday morning classes at 10am. We are looking forward to getting these classes back on track, and seeing more Kitely and other hypergrid folk participate. Topics we plan on covering more in the future:
a) optimizing exported linksets before mesh convesion
b) building mesh for animated textures
c) building mesh for scripted movement
d) materials, textures, and baking
If you have a topic you have developed some expertise in and would like to share, we welcome you to come participate.

More blurbage on Blender Buddies:
Blender for Absolute Beginners
Thursdays 5:30pm grid time, taught by Mike Lorrey.
Friday 10am grid time, taught by Ada Radius.
Location: grid.kitely.com:8002:Cookie II

Please download a copy of blender at http://www.Blender.org before class and take a look at it.

If there are beginners at the class, in our first half hour you will meet your new friend, Blender! Everything is demonstrated on screen inworld so you can see Blender in action.

After that, we open up to people with all levels of experience to chat in voice or text about Blender projects, challenges, works in progress, random discoveries, sharing our screens with screenleap. All levels of skill are welcome.

Blender is a marathon, not a sprint. Hang in there.
