Cut-down viewers for possible student use

Post by Graham Mills »

A couple of these surfaced at the OSCC13 Conference.
  • Simudyne: no-build variant of Firestorm (you can still rez) -- looked interesting and works with Kitely although it's aimed at Simudyne's own grids so you may need to use the Kitely loginuri on the command-line. I wasn't able to get to their launch but I assume it remains open source. It's available for Windows and the Surface Pro with Mac promised (no Linux). http://www.simudyne.com/simugrid/
  • 3Davatarschool: wasn't able to find the download for this -- seems you have to register for their service first http://www.3davatarschool.com/

The 3Davatarschool viewer is self-build and available here: https://bitbucket.org/3das/3dasviewer

The Simudyne viewer seems to have issues displaying MOAP for reasons I have yet to fathom.

Apparently this viewer is still beta and the MOAP issue is being addressed. Graham
