Looking for a spacesuit

Post by Graham Mills »

I'm looking for a unisex spacesuit for student use during a session entitled Microbes and Mars. Lawrence has part of one on Serenity (no helmet or backpack but they're easy to do) but it's non-transferable so I can't put them in a vendor. As it's a short session, I don't want to send them to Serenity if I can avoid it, nice though it is. I don't need Mod or Export perms, just Copy/Trans. Downside is I need it ASAP so don't make a product just for me -- I may end up doing something really basic myself if there's nothing to hand.

perhaps you can find something here: http://zadaroo.com/

A quick look showed me some items you might could mix and match to suit your need.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did investigate LK's Space Welcome OAR but, unless I missed something, there are only conventionally dressed avatars and no additional clothes.

I was referring more to the clothing and costumes sections rather than the oars...

I didn't see anything space-related there either? I understand that I could make something up from parts but I'd prefer an integrated whole if possible. Thanks again.

No easy answer, but NASA has mesh spacesuits, and at least some of these will unlink into parts, and can be reassembled as wearables.
I don't know how difficult it is to do the suit a a whole, but helmets, boots, gloves, can be used.
NASA is down to day for political reasons, but the 3D repository has them at http://3dr.adlnet.gov/Public/Results.as ... =astronaut
(Presumably up because it's DoD)

Don't worry. I believe the United States of America is just temporarily short of money. As soon as the president can find 3 trillion dollars, NASA will be back.

NASA also has some 3D content that is currently unavailable: http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/3d_resources/models.html

If you want to make some Martian terrain there is also a plugin for L3DT http://www.bundysoft.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1291 and some handy landscape textures http://opensim-creations.com/?s=hirise
