Hello, I am very new & i have a question that maybe would not only help me but others in our lifestyle & beliefs

Most of my family is in secondlife but prices are just too high we had moved to another unnamed grid and thought things were fine,
Lately the last of us in that grid has been forced out for our lifestyle & RLV removed from the new viewer as they want a pg grid for teens,
My question is an honest one are goreans welcome here? I know very little about kitely other then some info online looking for secondlife alternatives ,

Before making any more mistake's moving outside secondlife i wanted to learn more on this question,
it is asked with all respect I ensure you .

Welcome Nala-))

I am just a sometimes resident here but just to get a response [besides the Welcome..lol]

As far as I am concerned it is fine, and I think it is fine in the grid as well.

Ilan can better answer this of course for the grid.

You got me curious on the unnamed grid tho as I have not heard of any going to teen pg and I get around a bit....hehehe

Welcome Nala!
(scrounging around my hard drive for the silks I used to sell to see if they're good enough to put up at the marketplace. I do remember appreciating the Gorean love of shopping)

What Miney said, Ilan can elaborate.

My opinion, heck yah, just read the TOS carefully re your responsibilities to keep the kiddies off your worlds. There are other "adult" worlds at Kitely. Unlike SL mainland, anyone who disapproves of sci-fi wargames, "alternative", "adult" fantasy activities and Norman's philosophies, can probably manage to avoid sailing the Thassa.

It's all good Nala-))

I actually think Kitely may be perfect for Gor and such, there are several very good ways to keep them private if one wants to here.

As well, there are no connecting regions where folx might wonder in unexpectedly from.

As well, there is a lot of help in these forums, and you can get some nice free OARs in many places and import them in and have lots of content and a nice terrain done in quick time-))

Hi Nala :-)

As Minethere and Ada correctly stated, you are welcome to set up a Gor community in Kitely as long as it is done in Adult rated worlds and you pro-actively ban any underage users you find to have faked their age in order to access your worlds.

You can set the maturity rating of a world in the Access tabs of the New World and Manage World dialogs.

Please let us know if there is anything you need.

I do think Kitely will have to put some thought into separate education worlds/megaregions/subgrids ultimately.

Graham - what grades do you teach?

It seems like a better idea to put the adult sims into a ghetto instead, so that only over 18 (or whatever the laws of one's country) can even see the world ad at all. And I do think that's a good idea, as I want to bring my preschooler granddaughter and a few of her friends in. Second Life was impossible, even with me looking over her shoulder supervising everything. The G rated private sims had escort girls with their "dates", and the mainland's idea of protection is a joke. Here I can just take her to one of my sims with restricted access and know she's OK.

I teach at university level but age is not really relevant as accessing adult content from university systems is contrary to regulations. I can understand your G-default perspective but my (not necessarily typical) requirements would be better met by insulating students from the remainder of the grid. I've also commented previously about the need to provide class enrolments and it would be good if students could automatically be assigned to access groups and provided with education-appropriate avatars, e.g. in terms of dress and baked-on underwear. In a more general sense, while I might be reasonably broad-minded, I can't make that assumption on behalf of my students or colleagues. Moreover, relying on people to "proactively" manage access is equivalent to shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. I appreciate that Kitely is a commercial operation and that ultimately my interests may be better served elsewhere.
