Re: Murder Incorporated
Just for clarification, if anyone is playing as a "team" each person has to give the solution. That doesn't affect the team, it is simply so that each individual will be recognized and awarded.

Re: Murder Incorporated
Here are some technical hints for those of you just getting started:

- Click an NPC to get his attention and make him listen to you and you alone. They like being clicked. It makes them feel helpful and happy, and gives their lives meaning.
- Once you have an NPCs attention, just talk to them in normal English in local chat like they were another person. They like being talked to.
- ALL NPCs know different things that are unique to them and their area. Some share background knowledge. Try asking them about things and people, and especially about what they know.
- Some NPCs know more than others, and some are more cooperative than others
- NPCs do lose interest after one minute of not being talked to. They aren't being impolite, it's just their custom.
- NPCs and some other things you may encounter in your travels use advanced Nitrogen [Quest] scripting technology, so don't underestimate them
- Everything you need is in world. You may need to ask questions, listen to answers, read things and look around for things to find what you need.
- If you are totally stuck, try returning to the main storyline and replaying dialogue.
- Hundreds of dialogue choices and hundreds of voice files - Turn your sound up a little.
- The crime scene is easy to find on the Computer Plaza west beach
- Detectives start at the Falling Sky office
- A smart detective keeps up with the news online

Re: Murder Incorporated
I would add one thing to DD's post. A good detective reads the news

Re: Murder Incorporated
I do think it a shame that the murder mystery is being ended after so short a time. It didn't even include a weekend when most people would have time to enjoy it.
Is it not possible to clone the world(s) involved, and maybe have them up for a month? Perhaps we could share the cost in KC to allow this to happen.

Re: Murder Incorporated
I appreciate that you enjoyed things, Dot, but, as mentioned inworld, this is an experiment. A Proof of Concept. As such, it needs more work, more development. It was never intended to be anything more.Dot Matrix wrote:I do think it a shame that the murder mystery is being ended after so short a time. As to cost, I have literally $20 a month for such things as game subscriptions, KC, movies, etc. I have already devoted last month and this month (October) to this project. I cannot devote any more. The only way I can see to keep this up and running would mean transferring Regio Excelsior to somebody else. I am open to the idea, but I have invested a lot of time and effort into the build. I doubt anyone would be interested in working this out.
Then there are my own interests. I am a fan of science fiction, not murder mysteries. I'm not against them, I am simply not as motivated to spend as much time on them as I am on sci-fi.

Re: Murder Incorporated
I understand that it is proof of concept, and agree that it needs more work. However, it might be that others on the Murder Inc team would be willing to put in some of that work on a clone of Regio Excelsior and so build up the tools.
