Active RP Sims

Hi all!
Does anyone know of any active role-playing sims? I've visited several areas in Kitely, and often no one is around. I want my students to be able to see good role playing in action because we are covering immersive storytelling. I can even give specific dates for when we would want to visit the sim so that a scene could be staged.

Any suggestions?

Hello Donna:

At this time, there are several RP sims available, but right now roleplay is really quite sparse. As many people tend to live in vastly different time zones, it can be hard to bring people together. Roleplaying is considerably more common right now in Second Life than OpenSim, however, more and more people are making their way over here, but it will still take considerable time.

You might ask sim owners when they often have roleplay sessions, though most of them do check these forums and so they might be able to replay to this post. With my own RP sim, eventually we'll schedule 'time slots' to make a strong effort to try to bring people together at times that hopefully fit most people.

I thought I saw something on the calendar where Hogwarts was going to be doing RP classes on weekends.

I have seen people on asking about Hogwarts RP times, with no response. One issue is that RP group leaders should be able to post events to the calendar and do so well in advance, particularly for regular weekly events.

That said, I founded the Star Wars Roleplay - Kitely group, and there are now three star wars sims in Kitely in various stages of development or operation. One has several worlds on mesh terrain at different altitudes. There are also two star wars sims in the Lost World grid on the Hypergrid, Tattooine and Endor. We are actively searching for others in Opensim, if you have heard of or visited others, please post hop URLs to their locations.

Rosa Alekseev and I run Naboo, where we are building specifically the world of that name as seen in much of the Episode 1-3 prequels, which will feature human city of Theed and its Palace, as well as Otoh-Gunga city underwater, a spaceport on the ground and space station in the sky, as well as extensive natural terrain of various types, gungle, grassland, lakes and rivers. We invite others with interest in Star Wars roleplay to join us and participate in building the SWRP community. If you are interested please join the Star Wars Roleplay - Kitely group to participate in the community, and if you want to work with us on Naboo, you are welcome to join our region group as well. Damien Dark and Darth Sixx are the owners of the other two SW sims in Kitely.

You may wish to add me as well, though the sim "Lisianthus" (RP sim: The Chronicles of Lisianthus, a medi-fantasy sim) isn't near enough complete that I'm ready to host any sort of events, we do have some big plans in the future with collaborating with other medieval fantasy sims across OS. There's no rush, and I've already friended you inworld Mike if I have anything to send your way to add to the calendar. I'm not expecting any sort of events until possibly January of next year at the earliest.

There's at least 4 other medieval fantasy sims in various stages of development as well.

I have a RP sim but it is Adult (currently M rated but normally Adult related) - Simply because I didn't want to filter out music at events with adult language or possibly scenarios with adult language etc. So of course, being Adult it would not be available to the general population unless they are able to change their settings allowing them to accessing them Adult worlds. I also think that if your region is Adult that you can't post the event in the Community Calendar because there is no filter on it and could be accessed by anyone. (but I could be wrong) - Point being that there may be other RP regions out there but they may be 'hiding' under the A rating

We are active, and I've been able to post notices for quite some time in the Kitely calendar. However, I chose not to post our roleplay events in the calendar, because they are in-character, and I would rather people have already come and sought us out to roleplay. I will and have posted out-of-character events.
