Experiencing occasional region instability

Post by Ramesh Ramloll »

Hello,
I have been currently experiencing some strange behaviors when I log into a region of ours on kitely. Now am not sure if it is a viewer issue but here's a description:
Sometimes when I inspect the contents of a prim which contains a few scripts for e.g., the content window will be stuck ... and no contents will appear.
If I drag a script from the inventory into the prim, it won't show up in the prim.
Anyone else experiencing this?
p.s. any tips on how to resolve?

Hi Ramesh,

What viewer and version are you experiencing this issue with? Have you tried it with other viewer versions?

This sounds very similar to what I was experiencing a couple of weeks ago (Ilan, you may recall we discussed it the end of the weekly meeting), which was with Firestorm 6.3.9 (58204) 64-bit.

It seemed like any type of operation (manual or scripted) that dealt with prim inventory was occasionally experiencing long delays.

Hi John,

Please check if the latest Firestorm beta version still has this issue.

Hi Ilan,
Am using the same version of Firestorm as John. This morning things are stable so far. It might be one of those issues that lurks for a long time and are hard to capture.

Hi Ramesh,

Firestorm 6.3.9 is the latest Firestrom release, there is a new beta version that hasn't been officially released yet but that Firestorm beta testers have access to. Please check if that version solves these issues. If it doesn't then it may be worth notifying the Firestorm developers about it.

I'm mostly using the beta version at the moment, so I'll keep an eye out for recurrences of this issue.

Hi Chris,

If you restart your viewer, are you able to enter the Kitely Welcome Center directly from the viewer login page?
