bad delivery...

Post by Gregg Legendary »

ok so i made a bunch of animesh bots... part of the process is linking all the parts to a box with the animated mesh feature checked on.
when i personally hand someone the box directly from my market folder everything is fine. when kitely market delivers it the animated mesh feature is still ticked but does not function and they get a exploded version that is unfixable.. what the hey?
yes everything i made.

Gregg

Hi Gregg,

The script inside your box may be accessing objects/prims by order instead of by name. The order can change on delivery from the marketplace. Also, note that any changes that you make to content must be made on the rezzed copy of your content, which you should only then place inside a rezzed box and only then take that box into your inventory. Once that's done, add the box to your product listing.

Hey Gregg, I have a similar problem with one of my animesh scripts. I upload my animesh and add the animation to the mesh. I add the script in the folder and the customer has to add it on their own. No one has really complained about having to add the script, I add instructions to the folder. It's a marketplace thing and I think people are used to it now anyway.

One would think it would be sensible to fix the market place to work properly like Sl marketplace.

Hi Gregg,

As I've explained in our IM correspondence, script state isn't saved in the marketplace as it can't be sent to other grids.

Script states are not saved in the marketplace because they can't be delivered to other grids as well, even if we could theoretically save them to be delivered inside Kitely. So it doesn't matter that the delivery was inside Kitely as the script state isn't part of what the product listing contains.

Gregg, there are animesh products sold in Kitely Market that are not broken. A linkset may not retain the same link order so if you're animating parts of a linkset you need to reference the prim names not their order.
