I also have have specific permission from Arcadia/Aley to use her stuff - I made live theater sets plus an installation for the 21for21 Howard Barker festival in 2009 - Avatar Repertory Theater was the virtual world participant in that, and Mally helped me get all the Arcadia stuff I needed. All but the avatar skins and maybe two prims came from Arcadia, were a joy to work with and I learned a lot about building and texturing just by looking at what she did.
http://www.livestream.com/avatarrepertorytheater and http://www.avatarrepertorytheater.org/node/2

Heh, the first time I asked her I got something like " I don't care if you use it to blow your nose!" But after I sent her the link to the machinima: Aley Resident: oh neets :)

Question - what does the Cy-Clone do, exactly? It takes one of the owner's prims and uses it to clone a full perm linkset made by someone else, only maybe without textures? Has anyone here used it?

Arcadia is coolnessified!!

I read the links on this cy-clone thing and the one thing that struck me is that they say that you need to also buy it in the grid you wish to use it, and kitely was not listed as a current one.

Soooo.......someone needs to get them here I guessin....

This seller allows all opensim kitely but excluding inworldz & 3dmee

Your pal Olivia
I saw this posted on the google+ community I am in...the one who excludes inwz and 3dmee....it got me curious and I googled around a bit.

Being somewhat new to these games I did not know some history....

I don't know their particular reasons but it seems the inwz and 3dmee folx had a grid before...something like openlifegrid...

it faltered and left a lot of bad blood around, apparently....i expect this creator knew those folx.

Arcadia Asylum freebies are creative commons licensed. They are OK to import, export, use and give away and can only be sold as part of a value added item!
example of a value added item would be a Aley chair as part of a big house build -do not retexture chair alone and sell!- but as a much larger value added product! (a resized or retextured object is not a value added product!) As FREEBIES theres no warentees or product support Thats it, KIS (Keep It Simple)
If you are wanting to get most of Aley's things then make is simple for yourself and get this -

https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Al ... rs/5046964

There are 9 vendors in the box containing most of Aley's creations - just about 15 or so things are not in these vendors - so get the vendors and then if there is something else you want, purchase it individually.
Saved me a load of time doing it this way.

I am impressed how far this thread ran :). I think the wind has been taken from its sails since the new MP. But a suggestion might be to contact the creators who were open to having items imported to OS so that they can now come and sell them themselves, if they choose. The people mentioned in this thread have already proven receptive to OS, so it would logically be a good place to start searching for more merchants.

.....dont look at me though :) I have enough to do already.

I found 3 more resources:

Flecha creations - Sculpt maps, and mesh. Weapons, oldworld/gorean stuff, jewelry, clothing with DAE. Some mesh doesn't have DAE, read product descriptions/vendors. Send a notecard to the creator with transaction ID's + grid user/name and wait for an all clear. I had a fast response.
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/52128
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/C ... /158/33/23

Curve Appeal - Elegant/classic mesh clothing DAE. This creator offers a grid license for sale in the inworld store which needs to be bought, and filled out. Follow the instructions given.
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/168739
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/L ... /37/159/23

Timeless textures - Offers a per grid/avi license on request (contact the creator). Follow the creators instructions to complete/fill out the license given and wait for final approval. This creator also has a store on Great Canadian grid (see footnote)
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/12129
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/P ... /246/16/21
login.greatcanadiangrid.ca:8002:Timeless

and 1 more:

Texture Junction - Very nice texture packs with a liberal store policy. These textures are allowed to be used in your creations on other grids. (Read terms as always!)
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/stores/50963
http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/R ... 144/228/25

Update: added links and added a 4th merchant resource
Footnote: Notice that as of the current state of the hypergrid, HG visitors on foreign grids are only able to buy free objects
