Prim Size
I am a seasoned builder, working in Second Life for many years. For many projects I prefer to build visually (using stretch), rather than inputing size numbers. When sizing prims here in Kitely I am experiencing "snap back" of prims to a much smaller size--and I am not attemping to exceed the normal prim size limit. For example, when I try to stretch a sphere to about 20 meters, it keeps snapping back to 10 meters. It ony cooperates if actually input size numbers instead of using stretch. This is making building a much much slower process for me. This is frustrating to say the least. I love to build. If I cannot build with ease in Kitely, I won't be contributing nearly as much content. Can anyone shed some light on this issue? Is there a setting I can change? Is it a known issue? Is it just me? (Note: I'm using Imprudence at the moment--could that be the issue?)

Re: Prim Size
Hi Sierra,
Kitely supports megaprims up to 256m in size.
I suggest that you use the latest OpenSim-compatible version of Firestorm: http://www.firestormviewer.org/download ... d-tabs-1-1
Please let us know if this helped.

Re: Prim Size
I see that Ilan answered your question, just wanted to mention another cool thing in Firestorm is that you can rezz/build up to 10,000 meters.

Re: Prim Size
I recommend not building that high, the higher you build the more visual bugs you'll encounter (viewers have rounding problems at high altitudes).

Re: Prim Size
i always heard 4096 as a max height where all things still work right....building & scripts, etc
however, i have known builds up higher, some built low and moved up...
i once went to 200k in a grid using gth...lol...but i was wonking out a bit-))

Re: Prim Size
Thank you all. Everyone here seems to be discussing "megaprims". I did specify I am talking about regular prims. No worries though. I am assuming it is an issue with the Imprudence viewer. At any rate, the issue did not repeat itself when I logged on the next day. Thanks everyone.

i wasn't....in opensim megaprims as you know them in sl are not needed.
You can make a prim that covers an entire region if u want to-))

Oh really! How wonderful! Someone had told me you have to use a script for that--so i had not tried it. Thanks, Minethere--if i ever get logged in, that's the first thing I'll try! wooopie!Minethere Always wrote:Sierra Jakob wrote:Thank you all. Everyone here seems to be discussing "megaprims". rezz a box and enter 128 for the x and y positions...then 256 for the x and y size...then back to the position and put in the height @ z where ya want it.
then type gth [the height of ur prim -without parentheticals] in your local chat [assuming you have chatbar commands activated]
then sing ...Voila!!! Magnifico!!! Bravissimo!!!
