Trouble Scripting Windlight

Post by Mike Lorrey »

The LightShare functions (prefix "ls") have been in existence for a number of years to enable scripts to manage/control region and user windlight settings. Unfortunately, there are some serious issues with using LightShare functions in scripts under OS 0.8.2 due to a number of problems that include low precision of MySQL tables for windlight settings, but other reasons as well. I have made a script that grabs the windlight settings in SLexit region that I want, pertaining to the sky, clouds, etc so as to make the sky like a midwest stormfront in order to work with my scripted thunderstorm/tornado product that is in development. Unfortunately, when I use the same lightshare commands to reapply these very same settings to the very same region, the entire sky changes to exactly NOT what I want it to look like.
It appears like these problems are being alleviated in 0.9, according to this mantis: http://opensimulator.org/mantis/view.php?id=8061
