Is there a known issue with llEmail not completing the send?

I could be wrong but I don't think it's enabled. I vaguely recall having a discussion with Ilan about it but it might have been on another board.

PS: Might help a little: http://www.kitely.com/forums/viewtopic. ... t=+llemail

Hi Allen,

llEmail will remain disabled until we have time to implement rate limits to prevent people from using Kitely worlds for spamming.

Ah, okay. :( Seems like a really inefficient way to spam. ;)

I guess i'll have to go back and make some programming / messaging changes in my gadgets. Are the other forms of outworld messaging disabled? Can I send http messages etc?

Ilan,

Does the system send any result back - identifying the llEmail is disabled? Just starting to think about how to handle different behaviors on different grids.

Hi Allen,

Without rate limitations people can use our Free Plan to send big bursts of spam emails at high rates and have us suffer the consequences. That's not a risk we're willing to take.

We'll be enabling osGetGridName and osGetGridNick in the next site update so you can check whether you're on Kitely on another grid.

You can use llHTTPRequest for outbound messaging. See: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlHTTPRequest

I just tried llEmail and seems to remain disabled. Can we expect to have llEmail enabled in the short term?

Hi Angel,

I'm sorry but that is not something that we'll be enabling in the near future. You can, however, use llHTTPRequest to contact third-party services and use them to send you emails. See, for example, https://ifttt.com/wtf
