This is a small gunboat with one cannon and seats up to 4 pirates. It has a gaff sail for sailing the wind, and also a built-in steam engine with sampled RL sound, brass propellers and smoke exhaust. Only the pirate in the pilots seat can control the steering and the engine. However it can be set up for one of the passengers to control the sails and another to control the cannon.

The cannon uses the Magic Bullet System to work in no-rez SIMs. You can have battles, see the cannonballs explode, hit other gunboats and sink them. The cannonballs explode white/blue if they miss and splash in the water, brown if they hit terrain, orange if they hit prims, red if they hit an avatar or huntable animal, and gray if they go out of range. The cannon balls can travel up to 56 meters. The cannon has a HUD that will rotate it to different asimuth, altutude and change the powder charge. (The charge numbers are calibrated to the exit velocity of the cannonball in m/s). Passengers on the gunboat can touch the cannon to fire it. The owner can give copies of the HUD to gunnery offices for more efficient control of the cannon.

The boat will sail the SIM wind, wind broadcast by Wind Setter Buoys, or internal wind. The the boat heels over in the wind, tacks and gibes realistically. A dialog has buttons to reef and furl the gaff sail. The left/right keys turn the boat and the forward/back keys set the sheet on the sail. It also has an engine mode for motoring without sails, controlled by the page-up/page-down keys. The dialog has a mode to allow only you or your fiends to pilot and even give them permission to change modes in the dialog. To return to the dock just jump off and the boat will teleport back to its starting point. (Disable this with the dialog if you wish). A “moor” button in the dialog will allow you to temporarily over-ride this so you can stop and get off the boat, then continue your journey.
