Attention all Opensim Original Creators!

We are now opening slots for merchant stores for the upcoming OpensimFest 2021 in late November. If you create and market your own items in Opensim, this is an opportunity to gain name and brand recognition. You will have your own plot to place your own store, or you can opt to use a building already made for you to use.

The region will use Gloebits for currency, so you can sell your items, give them away for free, or a mix of both. You can also opt simply to place posters of your products with a link to your main store on Kitely grid or to your store on the Kitely Market where customers can purchase your products using the currency of your choice.

No third party sellers please

The full event goes for three days and features an exhibit region, a merchants regions, and a full slate of live performances each day. The theme this year is Medieval / Fantasy, so the field is nearly wide open. Your products are not required to fit the theme of the event.

Awww, maybe I should upload my timberframe houses for it! Then again, the trees I'm working on at the moment should fit the theme well too.

Thanks to Tess Juel for some needed clarification:

The Fest is on its own dedicated server so we're not connected to or promoting any individual grid. We are celebrating all that Opensim has to offer, not only with merchants, but also with exhibit areas and a full slate of talented performers from all over the Hypergrid. In addition, there are no fees to register or participate and we take no commissions on your sales either. Since I have a region and store on Kitely and on the Kitely Market, I'm hoping to get a good representation from our grid there. The main festival will run from Friday 11/26 to Sunday 11/28, but the region will remain open to visitors and participants for 3-4 weeks after that initial weekend. At the end of that period, all regions, local Fest avatars and their inventories, oar backups and information is deleted and the server formatted. You will have ample opportunity to take your builds before that end date.

A shout out and a big thank you to those of you who have signed up to participate this year. We have several merchants signed up already, three just from Kitely, which is encouraging. The rest of the hypergrid needs to see the great work we're doing here. An Important Update on OpensimFest 2021:

Due to RL obligations, two of the original four admins had to retire from the Fest this month. Gladly, two more have stepped in and are enthusiastic about continuing the Fest, but requested we extend the Festival date until July of 2022 in order to facilitate the changeover and allow for previous holiday commitments.

Those of you who wish to participate next summer now have plenty of time to think about what you would like to do: Performer, Exhibitor, Volunteer, or Merchant. If you have already signed up as a merchant, you do not need to do anything further. I will keep you on the list unless you tell me otherwise. Those who have signed up for other roles can find current updates about your status in our Discord server.
