Update on RezMela products

Post by RezMela Apps »

Recently, the team at RezMela announced a new product: the RezMela Composer. If this looks familiar, it's because it is built on the core of our previous applications.

In addition, we are selling "modules" separately. A RezMela module is an object containing a set of related content - for example, office furniture, or customisable signs (or our latest, Garden Walls, released yesterday). We have 19 different modules, with many others queued up to put on Kitely Market. To see what modules are available, search the Market for "RezMela module".

We have decided to separate the main Composer (if you like, the "engine" of our other products) from the content (the modules containing objects) for several reasons:

1. More flexibility. Instead of buying applications with fixed modules, and another application with different modules, you can now buy the core Composer and buy whichever modules you want separately.

2. Lower cost of entry. The new Composer only costs US$1.00. This makes it easier and cheaper for people to try out the Composer before investing in modules - and it comes with a couple of free modules so you can play with it and decide how it might suit you.

3. Faster content releases. We can now release modules independently of applications, which gives us a faster turnaround.

4. Third-party modules. Any creator can now make their own modules and know they'll work with the Composer. We'll shortly be releasing a creators' kit and documentation to make this easy (if you're interested in creating modules, please let us know).

5. Ease of updates. If we make a change to the core engine, we only need to update one product. Likewise, if a module's contents change, we can update that module separately from the application itself.

Of course, our existing users won't have to buy anything new to move onto the new product. In fact, we're giving away a module of the user's choice for anyone who wishes to upgrade from a previous product. And as always, support is free for anyone - just let us know if you have questions!

Is the Composer link live? It says I'm not authorised to see it (I won't take that personally)

Whoops, posted the edit link by mistake. Should be fixed now - thanks for pointing this out!
