OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes
(Update 2024-08: Adding more items)
There are lots of people who are excellent builders but feel uncomfortable pushing vertices and tris around in Blender. If you're one of them, this thread is for you.
Let's start with some basic polygons, five, six, seven and eight sided ones: https://www.kitely.com/market/product/4 ... ygon-Colle
The octagon has already been for sale for a while so the listing won't show up as new but it is, or at least it has four times as much content now. For those who have already bought the octagon with their Kitely account, look in your Kitely Market folder for an updated redlivery. (Apparently redilvery to other grids is not possible, sorry about that.)
You want more sides? I'll make them and add them to the set if somebody really needs them but once we're over eight sides, we're really talking cylinders so I don't think there's much point.
You want fewer sides? Please use prims for triangle and squares. A single prim will always outperform a mesh - as long as it's possible to make the shape you want from a prim of course.

OPQ Runded Edge Cubes (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly ok to be square! But you can still be a little bit rounded, can't you? Prims can't though, a prim cube always has sharp edges.
Here's the solution: ten mesh cubes with bevelled edges - five different amounts of bevelling and smooth or sharp normals.

More smooth cubes (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Want some well rounded cubes but not with the added tris and hassle with bevelling? These two do the job using only smooth normals.

OPQ Cube Row Collection (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Up to five cubes in a row as a single mesh. These were originally made either as roof beam extensions or as pillars/fence posts so I've left the bottom surface of them out to save on the tris. I'll be happy to make complete cube versions of the meshes if anybody asks for it and I can also make versions with bigger or smaller spacing between the cubes if needed. I'll have to charge a little bit for such custom jobs of course but much, at least not if it's soemthing that can be added to the set for sale on KM.

Special Cubes (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Two different listings here. These are both out-takes from different builds of mine but I hope they can be useful for others too:

OPQ Twisted Cube Collection (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Cubes that just refuse to be square.
Update 2024-08-04. Added 29(!) new shapes to the set. Some of them aren't really cubes anymore but that's what they all started their lives as.

Tube Collection 01 (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Three mesh shapes I made looong ago. I regard this as a finished set but if somebody want/need some other variants (different length/diameter proportions etc), let me know and I will consider adding more meshes to it.

More Tubes and Pipes (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
I may expand this into a set like the cube rows. Is there any real need for that?
Edit 25-02-01: I did expand it, one more mesh added. https://www.kitely.com/market/product/7 ... linder-Row
---
This one may also be a start of a set. I made it as an illustration for a tutorial how to handle curved shapes and never really though of listing it for sale. But since I have it anyway, maybe somebody needs it? https://www.kitely.com/market/product/7 ... e-05-04-12
---
And here's a rather unusual one, 14 cylinders of diminishing sizes. This was originally the railing for a staircase. https://www.kitely.com/market/product/7 ... Row-14-4-C

Polygon collection update (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
I've added five more meshes to the polygon collection. These are the same shapes as the old ones but with radial UV mapping for the top and bottom faces. The difference? Here is the hexagon with a wood plank texture and with regular UV mapping to the left and radial to the right.
(The texture is not included in the package btw. It's from a set I haven't had time to upload yet. Watch this forum for a huge seletion of textures like this coming up soon.)

OPQ Split Top Cubes (Re: OPQ General Purpose Mesh Shapes)
Cubes with the top split into two, three or four separate faces. I originally made these as fundaments for houses and rowhouses where each room/unit needed a different floor texture but they shuold have other uses as well.
